Assessment

The Insight Team uniquely combines a holistic approach to assessment and will draw on the skills from the interdisciplinary skills offering a high quality, comprehensive assessment and treatment for all forms of eating and health problems.

The Assessment may take place in one or over a number of sessions and may involve seeing more than one practitioner from the Insight Team. This will be discussed with you at your assessment appointment. Those seeking help with their eating problems are likely to be offered an assessment and treatment from both a Clinical Psychologist /Psychotherapist and a Dietitian. Some people also benefit from seeing an occupational therapist and consultant psychiatrist.

Those seeking help with health problems are initially assessed by a Clinical Psychologist /Psychotherapist and a treatment plan is discussed alongside collaborative goals and plan.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on a number of factors; such as how long you have had the problem for and whether this is one of a number of other issues which might also be interlinked. Most clients will require a minimum of up to 6 sessions to implement and notice change. We will review progress after each block of 4-6 sessions and decide together if more sessions would be useful.
