How We Can Help You

This page contains information for current or prospective clients about our service, how to make contact, the services we offer, payments and costs and what to expect. If there is anything that we have missed - please don't hesitate to get intouch via contact page for general enquiries or by emailing us at [email protected]

Our Approach

We provide high-quality, evidence-based care and take a neuro-affirmative approach. This means we recognise diversity as a natural part of human variation and aim to provide a supportive, sensory-aware, strengths-based space. We work collaboratively to reduce distress and improve functioning, making adjustments to support neurodivergent needs without aiming to “normalise” or mask neurodivergent traits.

How we work

How am I referred to the service?

We encourage self-referral. Referrals are also accepted from GPs, Consultants, and other Health Care Professionals.

Where will I be seen?

Most of our clinicians work online. Some also offer face-to-face appointments at selected venues.

InsightEating and InsightHealth clinicians offer appointments across week days, evenings and weekends, depending on individual clinician availability.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You are welcome to have a family member, partner, or friend attend all or part of the session.

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT);
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT)
  • Trauma focused approaches including, EMDR
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
  • Mindfulness (MBCT /MBSR /MBCF etc)
  • Guided Self Help and specific evidence based therapies such as MANTRA
  • CBT-ED
  • GSH -ED
  • FB-ARFID

We use a detailed formulation to inform treatment choices.

Occupational therapists and physical therapists will also offer interventions based on your need. As well as this, our psychiatrists can offer detail psychiatric assessments, diagnosis and treatment.

Specific goals and individualised plans are agreed in collaboration with the individual, based on the latest guidance and evidence based practice. We draw on research and theory to inform our practice.

We listen carefully to what you tell us, support you in guided discovery towards solutions and work at a pace of change that suits you best.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your needs, how long you have experienced the difficulties, any previous support, and the goals you want to work towards. Our clinicians use evidence-based approaches and tailor the work to you, rather than offering a “one-size-fits-all” programme. In private care, this means we can adjust the pace, session length, and focus based on what is most helpful for you and on your progress.

We review progress regularly and agree together whether further sessions would be helpful, whether goals have been met, or whether a different approach would be better suited.

Care Bundles

ARFID Diagnostic Assessments (children aged 8 years and above, and adults)

ARFID diagnostic assessments are available for children aged 8 years and above and adults.

Before your appointment, we will ask you to complete pre-assessment forms/questionnaires. These help your clinicians prepare, make best use of appointment time, and ensure the assessment reflects your needs. Forms must be returned before the assessment appointment to avoid delays.

During the assessment, your clinicians will discuss with you if you would benefit more from an enhanced ARFID diagnostic assessment.

How do I pay for Sessions?

Different clinicians work slightly differently: some clinicians ask for payment in advance of each appointment, while others invoice after the session. We will confirm your clinician’s payment preference when your appointment is being booked.

For care bundles and fixed packages (including ARFID diagnostic assessments), payment is made in advance. You will be sent an invoice with payment details, and appointments are booked once payment has been received.

If paying by BACS, please use your unique client ID number (which will be provided to you at your initial contact with the service and on your invoice) and the date of the session as the payment reference (e.g., AC 01.12), so that we can allocate the payment correctly.
