Ruth Hambling
About Dr Ruth Hambling
Ruth is a HCPC registered occupational therapist who completed her degree at Plymouth University in 2016.
Ruth has received additional training in Sensory Integration, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, ACT, Solution Focused Therapy and clinical supervision. She has significant experience working with those who have severe and persistent mental illness who struggle to engage with traditional clinic based care. Ruth “meets the person where they are”, to explore their sense of occupational identity and support them to build the life they want, through remotivation and rehabilitation.
Ruth helps individuals to participate in the everyday activities that matter to them most, rather than solely focusing on reducing symptoms. Ruth places the person at the centre, working with them to restore their capacity to live, work, and socialise independently, ensuring that they have the skills and coping strategies that they need to maintain their heath and wellbeing.
